Wandering where to wander?

The aim is clear: to be somewhere warmer than Finland. The budget is low: but new roommates are welcomed, pasta-tuna-combination isin't too bad and we certainly didn't pay for working&holiday visas without going to use them! Finally, the plan is to go as long without a plan or just make one on the way! Australia, kangaroos, and vegemate; here we come!

Meet my sister Elsa, she is currently doing high school excange in Waiuku, New Zealand!

                                          Vesihiihtoa!

But nothing beats the best: quality time with your sis.

On the grounds of Waiuku College - with a local student!

We made a Finish dinner: the meat got a bit burned, mushrooms were pathetically small and the desert was actually Swedish… but we managed to make Elsa’s dad so full that there were actually leftovers!
                                         Elsa with her host mom.

On Sunday morning me, Elsa and her host mom Annette joined for the sunset coast walk in Waiuku. That meant walking about 8,4 km on the hills next to Kariotahi beach near Elsa's home. The walk was amazing and since it was probably the closest I will ever get to a Lord of Rings Tour, we totally made it like one of those. Maybe you will see Bilbo Baggings and co. around the hills - just like we did. Unfortunately the walk is only organized once a year. The rest 355 days these views only belong to cows pasturing there...

Besides practising her English skills abroad, Elsa is also becoming a very talented blogger (heaps better then I am). Here is a video that I stole from her blog: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=X5lK0K5ROFU

ENJOY.
